MSU
Organic Farm
The Student Organic
Farm CSA is unique in that it is year round. This
means that Michigan residents who are members of our
CSA receive locally grown, organic vegetable YEAR
round. We are able to do this because we have 5 hoop
houses. We grow greens (kale, collards, komatsuna,
salad mix, arugula, pak choi, etc) in the unheated
hoop houses all winter long. We have one heated
greenhouse where we start our plants and then the
rest of their life is spent growing, slowly, in
unheated hoop houses. This is pretty extraordinary
for Michigan!! CSA members also will receive stored
potatoes, onions, winter squash, carrots, beets,
turnips, parsnips and other storable crops all
winter long.

The Michigan Organic Food and
Farm Alliance (MOFFA) was organized in 1992 as a
non-profit organization. We work to create more public
awareness about the nature of industrialized food supply and
its environmental and social hazards.
